Starboard Storage launched on February the 13th, 2012 at the VMware Partner Exchange in Las Vegas. With Starboard now a year old I thought it would be a good time to briefly reflect on what has been accomplished in our first year and a little bit about what is to come.
When Starboard emerged from Stealth on February the 13th, 2012 we were the first company to deliver a block-based unified hybrid storage solution that was designed from the ground up for NAS and SAN. We still are.
As you can see from the timeline below we closed series B funding, launched the AC72 and then the AC45 and have been recognized as an innovator in delivering next generation storage capabilities to Midsize Enterprises.

Along the way we have helped customers like Marine Bio with their quest to analyze the genetics of marine life and the University of Arizona to survey solar systems 2 billion light years away with their large binocular telescope. We have helped customers speed up their virtualized environments, consolidate their SAN and NAS workloads and most importantly manage their storage environment to more easily adjust performance, and capacity to the needs of their applications within the budgets at their disposal.
Thanks must go out to our distributor Promark and our many channel partners who have believed in our journey and helped our customers along the way. However the journey is only beginning and in the next several months you will see even more innovation from Starboard as we deliver new products and services that enable our customers to break the shackles of traditional storage systems and transform their storage environments to a more agile environment.
We are at the beginning of a large growth curve for unified hybrid storage and looking forward to the Journey. We would love to have you join us on it.
